    FS-A23 / FS-B412 Epoxy resin and hardener

Posted by Mark Sadler on 18th Dec 2022

Working on a project boat and have used Totalboat product and others but they do not compare to the Epoxy system from Fiberglasssite. Compared to others, Flash/cook time is nominal so I can keep on building in minutes since it doesn't take long to set like concrete.

    Great Stuff

Very high quality epoxy resin and hardener combo. Did several boat repairs and they all turned out great. No unexpected flash-off, and it hardened on a predictable schedule. Cannot beat this for the price

Great product, Blush takes a good deal of effort to get off. Fills weave with less resin

Posted by Charlie on 5th Jan 2018

I think it is a very tough resin. Fills the weave nicely. Seems one fill coat applied with a squege and foam roller will fill the weave nicely. A thin coat applied this way leaves little chance for runs. Really needs to be wet sanded as dry sanding clogs paper quickly. Also, no need to use course paper. Flat sand with 100 or 120 grit., wet or dry paper. The blush is sticky. It takes hot soapy water and effort to remove blush. Supplier is great to work with also. I build kayaks. For small batches, celebrate by pourin 3 equal amounts in mixing container and mark the height on the cup, add the 4th equal amount of water and mark the container. Fill cup to first mark with resin then add hardner to the 4th mark and mix for 2 minutes. Just know the blush is very sticky. I think even after washing blush with hot water what is left clogs dry sanding.

Works great. Didn't notice any overcoming smell

Unfamiliar with your epoxy. I had minor chemical booboo to much exothermal heat? Or reaction with plastic but it melted the bottom out of mixing cup. No big deal was almost done anyway oops. Other than that it was great, good set up time, wet out good. No complaints.
